FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are Colorbond or timber fences more cost-effective?

While timber fencing is more cost-effective upfront (a Colorbond fence is generally 30% more expensive than timber), Colorbond will last 100% longer than a timber fence. Colorbond may be more expensive upfront, however there are no ongoing costs with a Colorbond fence - making it a much smarter investment for your property.

Why choose Colorbond over timber?

The harsh (hot, humid, coastal and sometimes stormy) Sunshine Coast climate will cause a timber fence to weather and deteriorate over time requiring repairs and maintenance. A timber fence also generally only has a ten year lifespan. It is proven that a Colorbond fence will well outlast a timber one - installed correctly it will require no repairs, no painting and Colorbond is extremely durable, lasting 20-30 years with no issues!

Where can we find out about swimming pool fencing regulations?

Here in Queensland you can find guidelines for swimming pool safety regulations including fencing requirements by following this link https://www.business.qld.gov.au/industries/building-property-development/building-construction/laws-codes-standards/pool-safety/guidelines

How do I maintain my Colorbond fence?

Once we have installed your Colorbond fence there isn't really much you will need to do in order to keep it in pristine condition. A Colorbond fence won't need repainting or restaining - just wash it down with warm soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge occasionally. The low-maintenance requirements mean you can spend your weekends doing whatever it is you really love to do!

Who needs to pay what % of my new fence?

If a fence is being installed along a common boundary line between your property and a neighbouring property, then the neighbours should each pay 50/50 of the cost of replacement. There are variations to this however, so please be sure to check local council by-laws for your specific situation. If you're not sure, please feel free to contact us.
